We leave early in the morning, the day will be long. We
follow the Huinaimarca lake, which communicates with Lake Titicaca,
the water is beautiful. We ride well thanks to the wind and non-existing hills. We arrive early in the morning at the border. A
new complex combining the services (customs and immigration) of the two
countries, a little out of the way, is very practical. We eat at the border town Peruvian side, Desaguadero.
No big changes to the first approaches in this city between the two countries. But from our bicycles, we have a very good surprise. People on the side of the road say hello, even encourage us. We aren't utterly ignored anymore!
On the other hand, speaking of the wind, a good little fresh wind is rising, and of course it's a headwind. The last 30 kilometers, with some small hills, are hard to do. We're exhausted after 85 kilometers, but happy, we see the lake Titicac in the distance. François sees on the way a school that isn't closed. We try, and the teachers happily accept us in a classroom.
