Leaving Punta Arenas and ending up at Marcelo

After two days of well deserved rest it's now time to leave Punta Arenas for Puerto Natales. We had a lot of things to do during these two days, including finding a new water filter. Our current filter decided a few days ago to give up on us. This morning we still need to take care of this filter among other things. We also decide to take some pictures of the main square which is quite cute. With all that we don't leave the centre before 11:45.

The day is beautiful, the sun is hot as well as the wind which is extremely rare these days. Getting out of Punta Arenas is unhindered, even the wind is with us. We find a welcoming little wall facing the sea for our lunch, life is beautiful.

After the first 25km, we are in a very clear area where the wind is strong and is flattening us violently. It's very difficult to go forward in these conditions and we are worried about pitching our tipi under such a wind. It is 3:20 pm and we are already trying to find a place a minimum sheltered of the wind for tonight. The road is also very busy and we decide to ask estancias a sheltered corner to pitch our tipi. Our first attempt was successful: Marcelo and his family welcomed us warmly. They installed us in a village hall they rent for parties and such, Western atmosphere guaranteed! We have water, a kitchen ... Thank you dear Marcelo.
