A hard but short day

44.1km
397.2m

This morning it's rather difficult to keep the morale up: it's cold (6 degrees) and gray, rain showers from time to time, the wind is not very strong but it's a headwind, many uphill and monotonous landscapes. We see far and the distances are very big, it feels like we are moving very slowly.

Morale goes back when we arrive at the top of a 13km descent. The wind is not strong enough to slow us down in the downhill and we are travelling kilometres with great pleasure. At the bottom of the hill we meet another French cyclist during our lunch. He comes from La Paz in Bolivia and goes to Ushuaia. We discuss our respective routes and other tips and tricks.

Meanwhile the wind has risen sharply and the weather has improved greatly. We are moving very slowly now. We quickly set our camp on the banks of the Rio Bote, which appears as an oasis of greenery in the middle of this desert steppe.
