Today we'll climb the mountain of Reims, nothing really hard, it's just a hill. Before leaving Reims we go to Decathlon to replace two or three clothes and Floriane's shoes. We exit Reims late in the morning. Very quickly we arrive in the vineyards and we go up and down a lot of small hills. We cross one or two villages crowded with champagne houses. Once at the top of the mountain of Reims, we have lunch in the forest.
After eating, we take a tour of the forest to see twisted beeches, low trees whose trunk and branches are tangled, a very rare breed. We still cross some villages in the vineyards in the descent before joining the banks of the Marne. We find a bike path that goes to Epernay, our destination of the day. In Aÿ we're looking for a cellar to taste champagne and find Collet house, very chic but we deserve it. The Champagne is delicious, we taste 4 flutes each. After that we settle at the campsite in Epernay.
