Yesterday we had tar all day, today isn't going to be the same. We
asked many people about the state of this road and all were unanimous
about the next 60 kilometers: the road isn't paved. On the other hand,
several sources tell us that the road is under construction and that
after 60km the road is freshly paved.
This morning the sky is cloudy but we still see the blue of the sky. The
countryside near Ravelo is pretty, the valley is narrow but shallow
with small cultivated plots and isolated houses made of adobe and
thatched
roof. Very quickly we reach the works on the road. Several sub-layers of
the road are already present and ripio is almost as good as tar. We
ride well despite the beautiful hills.
At noon we eat the same dish as the night before: fried chicken with french fries and rice. The landscape continues to be very nice but the clouds make the photos very dark and don't really reflect what we've in front of us. The last hill of the day is high: 600m of altitude to bring us to more than 4000m of altitude. We arrive exhausted at the top, in the village of Ocuri. We find a shabby alojamiento. For dinner we find only fried chicken with rice and fries, again. We take the chicken for tomorrow noon and cook pasta carbonara with two eggs and smoked bacon bought in Sucre 2 days ago, a treat.
