Today is particularly beautiful, the sky is blue and there aren't many clouds. The
exit of Macha isn't really easy: we decide to take the road at the bottom of the
village rather than going up a steep slope on dirt road. The problem is that the bottom road crosses a river. We manage to pass after 15min of struggle. Floriane does it with only one foot in the water, it could have been worse.
We've a busy schedule for today, we're thinking of going to Chiquita, a village at 60km and 1300m of elevation gain. The first stage of 20 km of gently downhill brings us to Pocoata. There are a lot of people in the central square, again we're like monkeys in a zoo. We find a take away lunch before heading back on the road. Just
a few kilometers later, Floriane isn't feeling well, her condition has
worsened in recent days, it seems that the intestinal infection isn't
quite cured. We turn around and go to the small hospital in Pocoata. The doctor confirms that the infection is back and even attacked the kidneys, Floriane leaves with 7 days of antibiotics.
We decide to rest for the rest of the day to spare Floriane. After visiting another shabby alojamiento, we find a very decent hotel with private bathroom, clean sheets and breakfast included, a luxury for a village of this size.
