We get up early, we are in a hurry to leave Rio Grande once and for all. The weather is in our favour: cloudy sky but a good southerly wind which propels us all day. We drive much faster than other days and it's for the best, the road is good but flat and monotonous. We cross the border in the late afternoon, without our ham and salami: the Chileans forbid to cross the border with, among other things, uncooked meat. After a good and rich soup,we sleep in the only hosteria at the border post.
