We're doing well this morning, the road is flat until our first break. There we meet a couple of Swiss cyclists who go to Cusco, as we do. We don't have quite the same rhythm so we lose sight of each other. We eat our lunch under a beautiful sun before wiping a shower early in the afternoon while going uphill. The rain stops quickly and gives way to the wind that dries us quickly.
Arrived at the highest point of the day (4335m), we begin the descent under the rain, then the hail. We arrive relatively early to Aguas Calientes, a bath complex using natural springs of warm water. We settle down quickly before going to warm up in a sauna, then in a private bath. We're frozen before entering the sauna which has nothing to do with the Finnish sauna as we know it: it's a kind of veranda with a floor under which flows hot water that raises steam, on the floor there are all kinds of aromatic plants. We warm up quickly and the aromatic plants are pleasant to smell. After an almost cold shower, we head to the baths to warm up. We have a very pleasant time.
