We leave at 8am from our hospital room to head for Cosapa, the next village 70km away. The road isn't very hilly but we still have some small hills and descents. We follow a small mountain range behind which is the volcano Nevado Sajama, the highest peak of Bolivia (6 542m). We pass near remarkable rock formations.
We're eating in the sun next to a flock of llamas. The
afternoon is less friendly: the wind is stronger on this side of the
mountain range and the road becomes more and more straight and
monotonous. Fortunately we can see the Sajama volcano and other volcanoes that form the border with Chile.
We arrive early enough to Cosapa. Our search for free accommodation isn't as fruitful as other times, we end up in the only alojamiento of the village, well dirty and shabby as we don't like them. The good thing is that there is a shower and we have one for several days.
